Michelle Pfeiffer is tonight’s guest on Bravo’s Inside the Actors Studio (7 p.m. ET). Let’s take a minute to breathe in her glorious visage.
Of course, breathing is one thing I seem to have trouble with when I see her. I have never recovered — nor do I intend to — from seeing her in those jeans and that leather jacket in Dangerous Minds.
Tonight, Pfeiffer joins host James Lipton for an in-depth interview covering her many successful films, from Scarface to Stardust. I saw Hairspray over the weekend, and Pfeiffer obviously had a blast
chewing the scenery as Velma Von Tussle.
Hairspray marks Pfeiffer’s return to film after a five-year hiatus. She turned down the role of the White Witch in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in 2005 (a role perfectly played by Tilda Swinton) but gets in touch with her inner evil in Stardust as Lamia, a crone who wants to consume Claire Danes’ Yvaine. (Don’t we all?) And speaking of stars, today Pfeiffer finally got one of those on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
To whet your appetite, here’s my favorite quote from tonight’s interview, context-free so you can provide your own.
“I had to train with a whip master … it’s pretty cool, what you can do with a whip actually.”
Watch the clip here. Meow.
Also tonight: In case you want to have a Pfeiffer-palooza (TM scribegrrrl), Tequila Sunrise airs at 8 p.m. ET on Oxygen, and Pfeiffer is also scheduled to be on The Tonight Show on NBC. Let’s hope she wears these glasses.
