MSBNC talk show host Keith Olbermann devoted his “special comment” tonight to the issue of gay marriage, asking those who voted for Proposition 8 and similar measures, “Why does this matter to you? What is it to you? In a time of impermanence and fly-by-night relationships these people over here want the same chance at permanence and happiness that is your option.”
It’s a powerful and emotional speech by a straight person directed to other straight people – and that’s exactly what’s needed if we’re going to win this fight.
