Jennifer O’Connor and Kaia Wilson team up for a tour

Portland-based musician Kaia Wilson is best known for her bands Team Dresch and The Butchies and the riot grrl/queercore record label Mr. Lady, which she helped start up in the ’90s. A true queer icon in the music industry, she’s also a pro at table tennis and competed in the Gay Games last year. Kaia has joined up with out indie musician Jennifer O’Connor for a a small East Coast tour kicking off today in New Haven, Conn. Jennifer (who is from Brooklyn, New York) has four full-length albums under her belt, including the 2008 Matador Records release Here With Me. So during the tour, Kaia and Jennifer will perform their own songs (old and new) as well as taking the stage to do some performing together. If you won’t be able to make it out to any of the shows, you’ll at least be able to read about their tour right here on AfterEllen.com, as Jennifer will be sending us tour blog dispatches from the road.
