Gimme an “O”, Gimme a “V”…
Premiere magazine has published its “20 Most Overrated Movies of All Time.”
They are:
- American Beauty
- Chicago
- Clerks
- Fantasia
- Field of Dreams
- Chariots of Fire
- Good Will Hunting
- Forrest Gump
- Jules and Jim
- A Beautiful Mind
- Monster’s Ball
- Moonstruck
- Mystic River
- Nashville
- The Wizard of Oz
- An American in Paris
- Easy Rider
- The Red Shoes
- 2001: A Space Odyssey
- Gone With the Wind
While some of their choices left me baffled (American Beauty, Chicago and Moonstruck? Really?) others were already on my own personal list (2001: A Space Odyssey, Forrest Gump, Clerks and no, I still haven’t forgiven Kevin Smith for Chasing Amy).
I’m just wondering what our blog readers would have to say about the most overrated lesbian movies of all time. Mine would include But I’m a Cheerleader (half-assed campiness is just frustrating), Better than Chocolate (a major plotpoint revolves around controversy at a bookstore, plus, at one point a woman uses her daughter’s vibrator), and The Incredibly True Adventures of 2 Girls in Love (the goofy ending).
What movies make your list?
