Morning Brew – Tues. April 3: Naya Rivera covers “Latina,” women of TV in bed together for “Vanity Fair”

Naya Rivera is looking seriously sexy on the cover of Latina magazine. (Chanel belt FTW!) Inside, she talks about being a Christian and why she never dicusses it.

It’s hard and sort of sad that you do feel like you need to tread lightly when you say, “Yes, I do go to church and I read the Bible,” because once you do that people will be like, “Why are her boobs out? Why is her midriff showing? Why is she playing a lesbian?” I don’t want to deal with that stuff, and so I’ve never really discussed it. It’s very personal.

Naya, I don’t mind your boobs out, nor your midriff showing, and I love that you’re a lesbian. You can be a Christian or a Buddhist — I will always appreciate these things about you. She also talks about people who reach out to her for playing Santana, her upcoming album and why she wants to stay on Glee as long as possible.

Elsewhere in sexy magazine covers, Vanity Fair put some of the hottest women in TV in bed together. Check out Julianna Margulies with Claire Danes, Sofía Vergara and Michelle Dockery.

The party continues inside with Archie Panjabi, Emmy Rossum, Emily Van Camp, Kat Dennings, Kerry Washington, Grace Park and Emily Deschanel.

This issue is a must-buy, obviously.

Vulture wonders what happened to the coming out memoir. For some reason they were big back in the early-to-mid ’00s, but now we’re more interested in writing and reading about life as someone who is already out and proud. That’s progress, although I’m always a sucker for a good coming out story.

Olivia Thirlby showed off her gorgeous smile at the premiere of Gore Vidal’s The Best Man Broadway Opening Night.

The Atlantic has queer writers Edna St. Vincent Millay and Susan Sontag on their list of “the Most Precocious Authors in Literary History.”

If you’re like me, you aren’t upset with all the Carrie Brownstein news I’ve been dishing out. (I’m not mad at myself about it.) Carrie is on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast this week and discusses Sleater-Kinney being called a “lesbian band” and where in the U.S. she thinks straight women are most mistaken for gay.
