Morning Brew – Tuesday, March 6: Karina Lombard gets cast on “NCIS,” Ilene Chaiken’s CBS pilot gets axed

Morning!

Bad news for Ilene Chaiken: Her CBS pilot has been axed for being too similar to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Apparently one thing Ilene tried in a rewrite was to give the lead character a boyfriend. I mean, really.

Do you love yourself a lady in red? Sasha Alexander tweeted this picture of herself at a promo shoot for the new season of Rizzoli & Isles.

Karina Lombard (aka Marina) will be returning to TV. She’s joined the cast of NCIS as Ziva’s (Coté de Pablo) “long-time friend and mentor,” Monique. TVLine reports that Monique will show up in April and “has a somewhat secretive past.” I wonder if her secret past was living in West Hollywood with a husband, a partner, a girlfriend and a coffee shop called The Planet.

I can’t wait to see the Farewell, My Queen, in which Diane Kruger plays Marie Antoinette and has a thing for friend Gabrielle de Polignac ( played by Virginie Ledoyen). Check out this very lesbianish, very NSFW trailer.
