Morning Brew – Monday, June 21: “The Real L Word” and “The Kids Are All Right” premieres

Good morning! Have a nice weekend? I am recovering from my carpel tunnel after last night’s Real L Word live blog.

In case you missed it, the show premiered last night, complete with a party in L.A. You’re not mistaken — they did have a premiere party last week, too. It’s just partying 24/7 in the life of a lesbian, right?

Do they look particularly powerful or clammy to you? If you don’t know what the hell I’m talking about, you’ll just have to Tweet along with us next week, won’t you? Or you can read Dara’s recap. I’m just trying to get you to join me in having to watch this show every week.

The Kids Are All Right also premiered yesterday, with stars Julianne Moore, Josh Hutchinson, Mia Wasikowska, director Lisa Cholodenko and fan Jane Lynch in attendance.

Lady Gaga is on the cover of Rolling Stone again, and — as usual — she’s gunning for some controversy.

Comedian Kate Clinton was on a recent episode of Mae’s World, which means she had a real life conversation with a puppet.

If you’re in NYC tonight, make your way to Time Square to see Melissa Etheridge playing at the Hard Rock Cafe. She’s featured as part the Recording Academy’s “Grammy Artists Revealed.” The press release notes fans will get a “up-close-and-personal, storyteller-style format, while she shares anecdotes about her musical journey to the Grammys.” Sounds perfect for a Melissa superfan or like blog fodder for Tammy Lynn.

Did you see that one of our readers tipped us off to Vanessa Carlton‘s coming out at Nashville Pride this weekend? It’s interesting that many of the outlets that picked up the story felt the need to mention Anna Paquin also having come out as bisexual recently, like they’re related somehow. If anyone knows something about how Anna and Vanessa being into women are related, please send pictures to me. Thanks!

Julia and Mariana finally did it on Las Aparicio.

It was good for us — and for you? (Thanks Betty!)
