Welcome to Monday, Brewbies. Trish Bendix is taking a much-deserved holiday this week, so hold my hand and we’ll make it through the next four Bendix-less mornings together. I’ve got all the caffeine and pictures/promises of girls kissing that your little lezzer heart needs to start your week off right.
But first, Crystal Chappell was the
I think this is the first time that Chappell has talked about being attracted to women, and she is charming and articulate as always, so the whole interview is
OK, kissing girls, who wants to go first? Ah yes, you — the blustering one flapping your hand in the air like Hermione Granger on speed.
The Real L Word‘s teaser is airing on Showtime’s women-friendliest night of TV; on the very same night, in fact, that Dr. O’Hara’s girlfriend will show up on Nurse Jackie. Well-played, Sho programming gurus!
And here’s my very own tease of Sarah Khouri (Julia Ormond) and Dr. O’Hara.
In other snogging news, Sophie and Sian sealed weeks of angst with a (second) kiss on the British sudser Coronation Street on Friday. Later today, I’ll have a full rundown of their story so far, but here’s the speedy-quick version:
Sophie and Sian are best friends. Sian’s boyfriend tries to kiss Sophie. Sophie tells Sian. Sian doesn’t believe her. Then she does. They kiss one another. Sian flees. Sophie follows. Sian kicks her out and mails back their friendship bracelets. Sophie cries. Sian returns. They kiss again and are super cute and decide to have a secret relationship. Michael Jackson calls from beyond the grave. "Sophie," he says, "You can stop wearing my Thriller jacket now."
(Thank you, Katysnail, for hooking me up with the Corrie videos.)
If TV’s not your thing, but books are your game, Philip Gambone will be publishing a new book on June 15 called Travels in a Gay Nation: Portraits of LGBTQ Americans. The book is a collection of interviews with queer activists and artists, ranging from Alison Bechdel to Kate Clinton to David Sedaris to George Takei. Andrew Holleran says it’s "like going to dinner with people you’d love to know but don’t."
Tomorrow, we’ll have a recap of The Real L Word‘s first look by everyone’s favorite story reteller, BadMachine. And of course, TheLinster will bring us a rundown of Nurse Jackie. She’s fallen in love with Dr. O’Hara, so watching her get into a fisticuffs with Julia Ormond should be good fun.
Be honest, Brewbies: Who’s tuning in to The Real L Word tonight?
