Too much of a “Glee” thing?

So here is a question, can there be too much Glee when the show hasn’t even aired in three months? It seems every week, if not every day, there is a new promo or spoiler or tidbit to keep the Gleek army satiated. But will all the hype lead to overexposure?

The latest news includes a theatrical sneak peak of the April 13 return episode in nine U.S. cities next week with the proceeds going to benefit charity. Things you should know before you start standing in line immediately: Tickets are $15 and benefit the Grammy Foundations music education program and are on sale right this very second at www.ticketsforcharity.com.

The select cities are:

Washington, D.C., Tuesday, April 6, 7 PM, Arlington Cinema ‘N’ Drafthouse

Nashville, Tuesday, April 6, 7 PM, Belcourt Theatre

Seattle, Wednesday, April 7, 6:30 PM, Experience Music Project

Atlanta, Wednesday, April 7, 8 PM, The Plaza Theatre

New York, Wednesday, 7:30 PM, April 7, AMC Loews 19th Street

Chicago, Thursday, April 8, 7:30 PM, Hollywood Palms Cinema

Philadelphia, Thursday, April 8, 7 PM, The University of the Arts – Elaine C. Levitt Auditorium

Austin, Thursday, April 8, 7:30 PM, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

Miami, Date/Time TBA, South Beach Stadium, Lincoln Road Mall

And just like they say in those late-night infomercials: But wait, there’s more! The online open casting call officially began yesterday via the Glee Auditions Myspace page. Performers between the ages of 16 and 26 can upload a 5-minute audition video (one minute intro plus up to 4 minutes of singing a Glee track) until April 26 for a chance to appear in season 2. Oh, Heck, let Mr. Schuester explain it.

Fox has also released new episode stills from the upcoming new episode, titled “Hell-O.” Looks like we get to see Idina Menzel as the rival director of Vocal Adrenaline right away. Hello, indeed.

Also, in this picture our favorite possibly gay cheerleaders Brittany and Santana seem to be telling Rachel to step off. And Puck and Quinn are sitting together while Finn is alone. Awww.

And then just today some details were released on the upcoming Lady Gaga music episode. Lea Michele will sing a “very stripped-down version of ‘Poker Face,'” while the whole club with tackle “Bad Romance,” complete with Gaga-worthy outfits. Plus, the gang will be on the cover of Rolling Stone.

Now, I love pretty much everything about Glee (OK, not the fake pregnancy storyline — thank God that’s over), but these latest developments begs the question: Can we be too Glee-ful? The Glee folks have done a masterful job stoking the flames among diehard Gleeks. We’ve been feed a seemingly endless array of clips and spoiler and new reason to fall in love with Jane Lynch. But the show is verging on Twilight levels of hysteria. I mean, can action figures be far behind?

Granted, I would totally buy a Sue Sylvester action figure, especially if it came with a megaphone that played pre-recorded insults. But at some point you have to say, come on Glee, stop teasing. Just shut up and sing.
