The aliens are coming – back. The new sci-fi drama V is set to return March 30 after a four-month hiatus. And, from the looks of things, it’s off to a bang.
Yep, that’s Elizabeth Mitchell as FBI Agent Erica doing what she does best — being tough. When last we saw the gang, the gorgeous V leader Anna (played by the lovely and serene Morena Baccarin) had just dosed all her followers with some bliss while an armada of spacecrafts approached our planet.

ABC has released a synopsis and new stills from the show’s return episode, titled “Welcome to the War.” The synopsis:
As the story continues, Erica finds her life in danger when she’s attacked at home; a dangerous new member is recruited for the Resistance, as the Visitors shore up their defenses; Anna wonders why Chad hasn’t followed up on his diagnosed aneurysm; and Ryan’s concern grows over Val’s “abnormal” pregnancy, on the riveting return of V.
Well, they definitely weren’t kidding about Erica’s life being in danger. She appears to be running for her life from Mr. Clean’s homely, unfriendly cousin — or an alien, it’s probably an alien.
So now the only question is what works better on baldy? A gun or a frying pan?
Besides Erica’s fight, no other stills from the episode have been released yet. But, in case you’d forgotten why all of humanity had decided it was OK to open up diplomatic relationships with the Vs, this is what their leader, Anna, looks like.
That whole “Take me to your leader”-thing is really starting to make sense.
The series aired just four episodes before its long break. It’s a risky strategy; there is no assurance the audience will come back. The show has been building to a slow simmer so far. I wish the pacing was a little brisker. But the premise and the cast are still strong enough to bring me back — at least for a little while. Though, if we have to make a sacrificial offering to the Vs, may I suggest Erica’s teenage son? Puppy love and alien invasions do not mix well.
V returns at 10 p.m. March 30 on ABC. So, will you be watching? And, I’m serious, who do I talk about killing off the boy?
