I’m continuing my quest not to destroy anything while Trish Bendix is gaying it up at SXSW. Cross your fingers I can make it another – oooh, what does this shiny, red button do?

GLAAD hosted their 21st annual Media Awards this weekend, and we want to give hearty congratulations and hugs to our brother site AfterElton.com for bringing home another trophy. Brent Hartinger won the Best Digital Journalism prize for his article “Why Can’t You Just Butch Up? Gay Men, Effeminacy, and Our War with Ourselves”. It’s a thorough, insightful piece. Give it a read and give Brent some love while you’re visiting!
Other GLAAD winners included Cynthia Nixon, who was given the Vito Russo Award, and Joy Behar, who won the Excellence in Media Award. Greg Rucka won Outstanding Comic book for his work with Batwoman in Detective Comics. The Rachel Maddow Show won Outstanding TV Journalism. Oprah claimed the Outstanding Talkshow prize for her special television event, “Ellen DeGeneres and Her Wife, Portia de Rossi”. (The interview is re-airing today, if you’re interested.)

Did any of you catch last night’s 14th season premiere of Celebrity Apprentice? Openly gay writer/comedian Carol Leifer joined the reality show, but got booted at the end of the first episode. Her “Tenacity” teammate Cyndi Lauper wanted to keep her around because girls just want to have fun, but Sharon Osbourne said that Carol was “very under the radar, very low-key.”
We’re guessing being married to Ozzy Osbourne makes it seem like everyone is very low-key.
The CW has released a couple of photos for next week’s 90210 episode, “What’s Past is Prologue.” CW’s promo monkeys keep calling Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) and Gia’s (Rumer Willis) budding lesbian romance a “friendship,” but we’ve seen The O.C. – we know what happens on the beach at night.
I have been predicting for weeks now that Amanda Graystone and Sister Clarice Willow are going to get their frak on on Caprica, and it turns out I wasn’t just using my Gay People Subtext Glasses! On Friday night’s episode, “The Imperfections of Memory,” things went from buddy to bi-curious faster than you can say “Original Cylon.”
Yeah, Clarice is seeking apotheosis through the crazy mom of a crazy kid whose boyfriend blew up the commuter train that landed her inside a robot body, but who are we to judge?
When Amanda’s husband, Daniel, asks her if he should be jealous of her new friend, she smiles coyly and says, “I don’t know.”
Translation: yes.
Caprica only has two episodes left before the mid-season hiatus. I’m betting lip-lock, but wouldn’t be surprised to see Clarice take Amanda as her fourth wife.
