Morning Brew: Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Good morning!

Rumors swirled yesterday that Real Housewives of Atlanta personality Kim Zolciak had come out as a lesbian dating DJ Tracy Young. The two had worked together on Kim’s song “Tardy for the Party.” US Weekly reported that the two have been together for three months, and “overheard” Kim telling someone “We’re really happy!” at the Blacks’ Annual Gala in Miami Beach on Saturday.

Sorry to spoil the fun, kids, but Kim debunked these rumors on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live last night.

I know, I know. You’ll get over it soon!

And while we’re on the gossip track, Charlie Sheen‘s wife Brooke Mueller is apparently going to be scandalized when it comes out that she’s bisexual. RadarOnline.com is reporting that a woman who slept with Brooke and her hubby is going to come forward to say, “She and Charlie have had more than one woman share their bed in the short time they’ve been married.” Is it selfish that I wouldn’t mind if the rumors weren’t true? I’d be OK with her saying she’s straight. The insider also mentioned they used drugs in the bedroom, so I’m totally cool with bisexuals not be aligned with cracked out threesomes.

On this Friday’s episode of What Not to Wear, a lesbian mortgage broker with a passion for riding Harley Davidsons was turned in by her women’s biker club for having some ugly duds. Anne Concemi calls her style “lesbian surfer girl,” but Stacy and Clinton think she needs to “dress better and embrace her femininity [for the work week]. Leather flip flops and men’s clothing won’t cut it anymore.” I’m a little scared, but I hope Anne ends up happy with the transformation.

The film Person of Interest was just released on DVD and follows a lesbian sheriff and her detective girlfriend as they utilize a psychic to help them solve a mysterious string of murders.

The Stanford Times writes that director Christopher Ward had done a documentary on a policewoman who was a lesbian and decided to write his own film about a lesbian cop after “learning that [the lesbian cop and her friends] felt that the mainstream media was not properly portraying lesbians.” You don’t say!

The Brady Bunch reunion is not happening because Jan is mad at Marcia. Eve Plumb is still upset with Maureen McCormick for alleging they had a lesbian affair while working together on the ’70s family show. All the Brady actors were supposed to reunite on a network morning show tomorrow, but the two women refused to be on set together. Bummer for major Brady fans, should they still exist.

I’m trying not to see this as a sign of things to come, but Julie Benz has been cast in a new ABC pilot, No Ordinary Family. The actress, who plays a lesbian ex-stripper on Desperate Housewives, will star as a gifted scientist wife of a police sketch artist. Well, maybe she’s just into multi-tasking and will stick around Wisteria Lane, still. Fingers crossed!

If you’re in L.A., it’d behoove you to check out Gays R Us on the first Wednesday of every month at Hollywood Improv. Erin Foley, Poppy Champlin, Nicole Paone, Amber Tozer and Diana Yanez are all a part of the super gay comedy night.

Ta ta for now.
