Lady Gaga wants to go on the gayest tour ever

At a certain point the marketing machine that is Lady Gaga, real name Stefanie Germanotti, builds enough of a ridiculous critical mass that you simply must report on the rumors.

I was tempted, in July, to report on the bisexual singer’s claim that one of the Pussycat Dolls had hit on her . Gaga told The Sun:

I don’t like to kiss and tell, the girls and I are very close!

They are so nice and very sweet and I am very grateful to them because they have taken me all around the world and a lot of people found out about me thanks to those girls so I really can’t say (which Doll hit on her).

But is that really news for an out singer who caters to the gay community in an increasingly sexually free culture?

The next frontier is a more interesting rumor, one that has resurfaced of late due to a recent “wardrobe malfunction,” that Gaga is intersexed. Allegedly, the pop star admitted it herself in a blog post, writing:

Its not something that I’m ashamed of, just isn’t something that I go around telling everyone. Yes. I have both male and female genitalia, but I consider myself a female. I think this is a great opportunity to make other multiple gendered people feel more comfortable with their bodies. I’m sexy, I’m hot.

Indeed, it would be absolutely amazing to have an intersexed individual so clearly at the center of mainstream music. And no matter what else Gaga is, the lady is a hottie. However, I have my doubts about her physical hermaphroditism.

The outrageous Lady Gaga is known for her character and antics and I would tend to believe that any admission she makes is more of a metaphor than a physical trait, the bodily version of a stage name, if you will. Any potential body part that Glastonbury audience may have seen could easily be any number of packies, prosthetics or other package enhancers.

The only substantiated recent news has to do with Germanotti’s very real upcoming tour with longtime pal Kanye West. Although the co-headlining tour has yet to be officially confirmed, it is announced for October with a fanfare that has it poised as one of the most important tours in recent history.

And Lady Gaga has no reticence about proclaiming its gayness. In an interview with Out magazine this month, the chanteuse says she made one thing clear to Kanye:

I just want to be clear before we decide to do this together: I’m gay. My music is gay. My show is gay. And I love that it’s gay. And I love my gay fans and they’re all going to be coming to our show. And it’s going to remain gay.

She goes on to say that she very much wants to inject gay culture into the mainstream. “It’s not an underground tool for me. It’s my whole life. So I always sort of joke the real motivation is to just turn the world gay.”

With a tour that promises to be one of the most epic, as well as epically diverse, and the marriage of Christian rapper Kanye West with queer-loving club kitty Lady Gaga, one can see this dream becoming a reality. So Lady Gaga, no matter what kind of heat your packing either between your legs or in your chromosomes, you’ll always be a fabulous androgyne, drag queen and performer to me.
