Pronoun releases new single “wrong” and it’s oh so right.

One-woman band pronoun (Alyse Vellturo), just dropped her new single, “wrong” on NPR. “Wrong” is the second single from her debut album, which will be released on Rhyme and Reason Records in 2018. It’s a lo-fi dreampop tune inspired by unwanted news – you know, that Mercury retrograde-style ambush you never needed to learn about your ex.

Vellturo explains, “I wrote this song when I found out some really weird news about my ex. All of a sudden I just said out loud “I feel embarrassed again”, and I went from there. For the longest time I was so angry at her, and the news that should have been the final straw actually just made me feel really bad for her which spun me into the weird emotion of how can you feel sorry for someone you “hate”. How is that even possible, do other people feel this way? I guess in a way it’s what I would want to say… if I wanted to talk to her…. which obviously I don’t…. so I wrote this song instead.”

This new single is an amuse-bouche as she kicks off a new tour with Citizen and Basement.

Back in 2016, pronoun released her debut EP, ‘There’s no one new around you,’ a nod to the Tinder message letting you know you’ve seen all there is. These delicate rock tracks were written, recorded, and produced by Vellturo after a strenuous breakup. She’s toured with Turnover and Elvis Depressedly.
