Maxim unveiled its tenth annual Hot 100 yesterday, and after careful study I have finally been able to determine what AfterEllen.com and the men’s magazine have in common.
Joking! (Sort of.)
20 women made both lists, including Jessica Alba, Eliza Dushku, Yvonne Strahovski, and even First Lady Michelle Obama. Olivia Wilde took Maxim‘s number one spot, just slipping by Megan Fox. (My theory is that the editors were testing Fox’s claim that Wilde makes her want to strangle a mountain ox with her bare hands — or hoping that the proximity would cause them to make out in public.)
You’ll be shocked, I’m sure, to discover that Angelina Jolie and Lindsay Lohan were the only lesbian/bisexual women are on Maxim‘s list. Six women who have played lesbians on-screen, as well as Katy Perry, made the cut. (Make of that what you will.)
I’ll bet you want to see all this in chart-form, huh?
And just for comparison’s sake, I teased out entertainment information about both readerships based on the choices for their Hot 100 lists.
What’s that? You get enough math at your regular job/school, and all you really want at the end of the day is to see some beautiful women? Maybe we have more in common with Maxim than I thought.
(That actually was a joke.)
How do you think Maxim’s list compares to the AfterEllen.com Hot 100?
