Sienna Miller gets Interviewed

On July 13, the new Sienna Miller movie Interview premieres (limited release). Written and directed by Steve Buscemi (who also costars) the flick tells the tale of a "fading political journalist who is forced to interview America’s most popular soap actress."

At first I thought, "Great! I like Buscemi (even in that pervy film Trees Lounge) and I’m interested in anything that explores the cult of celebrity and what passes for journalism these days." But then I read a plot summary that included this paragraph:

"Each [character] is scarred in their own way, aching from deep, hidden pain. But honest revelations give way to punishing deceptions. Their confrontation evolves into a passionate verbal chess game spiked with wit, intrigue and sexual tension, capped with a riveting twist ending."

Now I’m just thinking, "Great, another average-dude-gets-the-hot-girl flick." How many of these must we endure? Wouldn’t it be more interesting if someone like Susan Sarandon played the interviewer? That would be a hit at the box office too, don’t you think?
