Warner Bros. has just released some screen shots from the upcoming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, due in theaters July 13. I admit I have long been a Potter fan but have only recently come to appreciate the movies. But now that the series is winding to its inevitable conclusion (so sad!!), I think I’m just OK with getting as much Potter as I can before it’s all over. Take a look at some of the new photos (warning: some are slightly spoilery!):
Emma Watson as Hermione, who’s thinking, "Why are we in this freaking Forbidden Forest again? Why? We have exams, I tell you!"
Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione, still in the forest and staring at, apparently, a very large being. And look at how tall Ron is!
At first I thought this was Harry’s hearing at the Ministry of Magic for using magic in the presence of Muggles, but then I see that Harry’s sitting over there to the left. Who is that person behind the All-Powerful Dumbledore?
Ron: OK, OK, I’m coming. Let’s go find Harry a date already.
Look at how Dudley has grown! And there’s Fiona Shaw, one of Britain’s 100 most influential gay people (Saffron Burrows‘ partner) as Aunt Petunia.
Ah, the dreaded, way-too-pink office of Dolores Umbridge. Look at all those plates decorated with tiny dogs! Ha!
Professor McGonagall (Maggie Smith) comforts the quite-batty Sybil Trelawney (Emma Thompson) while Dolores Umbridge (Imelda Staunton) gives pink a bad name.
Harry and Cho’s (Katie Leung) first kiss. Sweet or sick? I can’t decide. I’m much more on the Ron-Hermione bandwagon.
The gang’s all here: Ron, Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch), Neville Longbottom (Matthew Lewis), Hermione, Harry and Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright) together at the conclusion of the film. Is that a prophecy in Harry’s hand?
