If you have shoes lying around that you never wear consider donating them to children and families in need. Trip Out, the luxury LGBT Travel series, has partnered with Project Sole and is gathering old shoes at two locations in Charlotte, NC, Run For Life (1816 East Arbors Drive #420) and Hartigan’s Irish Pub (601 S. Cedar St.) or visit www.ProjectSole.org.
Speaking of dirty sneakers, on June 29 consider participating in the Out-fit Challenge Mud Run, the first LGBT mud run event to benefit LGBT Family Equality. The event will take place in New York City during pride week and “features 15+ military style obstacles that may include mud, water, and ice throughout the 3.2 mile trail with entertaining obstacle names like Pipe Dreams, Commando Crawl and Is that Mud in Your Pants.” After you cross the finish line there is a celebratory party with a DJ, food, drinks and muddy go-go dancers.
