“The Fosters” releases its first clip, more photos

The build-up to the June 3 premiere of The Fosters continues with ABC Family releasing new promo images and its first clip from the new two-mama drama. The new series from executive producer Jennifer Lopez follows a multi-ethnic family headed by two moms, police officer Stef and school administrator Lena (played by Teri Polo and Sherri Saum, respectively) raising their biological, adopted and foster children. Previews and promos so far haven’t shied from showing the women being affectionate, which is quite encouraging.

Though, as an ABC Family show, it’s clear that a lot of the drama and action will center around the youngsters. The first preview clip released shows Jesus (Jake T. Austin – yes, the youngest brother on Wizards of Waverly Place) confronts his sister Marianna (Cierra Ramirez) about some missing pills. Stealing and dealing drugs already? Drama, indeed.

The series also stars Maia Mitchell as new and troubled foster teen Callie, David Lambert as oldest brother Brandon and Danny Nucci as Mike (Stef’s ex-husband and Brandon’s biological father), who also wants to work as her police partner. Yes, ladies, ex-husband drama ahead.

Some more shots of Stef and Lena show them together and interacting with their children.

Doesn’t Polo look like Jodie Foster’s slightly butcher younger sister?

And for the HGTV addicts among us, can we talk about their gorgeous subway tiled kitchen with its beautiful farmhouse sink and vintage triple-burner range. That’s for all the parents watching along with their kids no doubt – and assorted random single adults.

So, are the new clips and promos making you more excited for the premiere? Hopes for the series? And, come on, that kitchen.
