Morning Brew – Thurs. April 11: Megan Rapinoe in “The New York Times,” Ryan Murphy is doing a sex show for HBO

Good morning!

Katee Sackhoff talked with Collider about her bisexual psycho role in Sexy Evil Genius. She was asked if her character is actually crazy or just really good at manipulating her exes:

Isn’t that the question, though? Some of the craziest people I’ve met, in my life, are some of the most brilliant people I’ve met. It’s almost as if they get bored in their own brain and they have to come up with this craziness to stay interested in life. So, I don’t know. I still don’t know. I think that’s up to the viewer. I think there’s probably little bits of both inside of her, for sure.

You can find Sexy Evil Genius on DVD, digital download or VOD.

Sally Kohn enjoyed this New York Times profile of Megan Rapinoe as much as I did.

Megan’s GF Sarah Walsh spoke of her gf for the piece, saying:

We make fun of each other a lot and one of the things I love about her is that she can make fun of herself. People are drawn to her.

So cute!

Hulu has compiled “The Best of Ellen” if you’re interested in their idea of her greatest talk show moments.

Our own Hook Up columnist wrote this great piece for Salon about going to the wedding of her former fiance. My ex came to my wedding — it’s fine!

An Etsy shop owner has decided to discriminate against lesbian brides. (Apparently this is a trend of late.) Paledeisgns owner Jess Fong told the women she couldn’t make their guestbook for them because she talked to her pastor and “prayed over it” and found that it wouldn’t be right with God. Well now she’s no longer on Etsy. Fuck yeah, Etsy! I look up queer shit on there all the time.

Out drummer Allison Miller wrote an article on (what else?) drumming for Jazz Times. More specifically, it’s about her favorite recorded drumming moments.

Christine Vachon and Christine Quinn talked with New York magazine about growing up in New York City.

Ryan Murphy is developing a show called Open with HBO that is “a modern, provocative exploration of human sexuality and relationships.” Sounds pretty gay.

If you enjoy Redhook beer, then you should enjoy it knowing they love you, you lesbian.

The Talk/Big Brother host Julie Chen is a huge ally, and she told Larry King she thinks gay marriage will be legalized within the next four years.
