Morning Brew – Tues. Feb. 26: “Catfish” reunion gets queer, Tilda Swinton in David Bowie’s new androgynous video

Good morning!

Last night on the Catfish reunion special, expert catfishers Chelsea came out as a lesbian, officially, and Rose said she once was catfished by a girl she was in love with online. This is not a good look for us gay chicks, but I have to say I love how this show is so queer by accident.

Wondering what Alicia Hardesty has been up to since Project Runway? Take a peek at her Original Tomboy line in this video.

A lesbian couple named Ma Youyou and Elsie were denied while attempting to apply for a marriage license in Beijing this week. They created their own marriage certificate but that’s the kind of rad activism China needs. Good on you girls!

Despite how difficult it is to wrangle the entire cast of Arrested Development together for filming, Netflix says they are hopeful for more than one season. Me too!

This new David Bowie video is NSFW toward the end, but it’s very queer and androgynous starring Tilda Swinton and models Saskia de Brauw and Andrej Pejic. The Runaways director Floria Sigismondi is behind the short film/music video.

Kevin, a gay llama farmer, was fired from his job as a teacher for being gay, because that’s still legal to do in Kentucky. Now he’s scared he won’t be able to feed all of the animals on his farm, and someone has set up a donation fund in his name. Thanks for pointing this out Heather Hogan!

Sue Perkins talked about her new sitcom Heading Out with The Sun, saying it’s not “a gay” show.

Most of my friends are married with children, that’s my world. I don’t live in a gay ghetto. My end goal has always been to be known for what I do, not for who I sleep with. And I think that should be the goal of any gay person – to be fully integrated in the community. Because it’s only that way you can stop bullying and homophobia. The more you present yourself as compatible and not different – just as boring, uptight and weird as everyone else – the better.

I refuse to present myself as boring and uptight, but weird is fine!

A stripper named Blaze Starr is famous for her dalliances with the famous, including JFK, but apparently she also had a threesome with Mamie Eisenhower and Eleanor Roosevelt. These things are detailed in her private letters, which are being auctioned off this week, beginning at $500 a pop.

Amber Heard showed off her dark side at the Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday.

Gillian Anderson is set to star in a new NBC conspiracy drama playing “Meg Fitch, the CEO of a conglomerate. She’s horrified to learn of the mass abduction of her daughter Amber and her private-school classmates. Long estranged from her sister, Agent Susie Dunn (Rachael Taylor), with whom she shares a shocking secret that explains their alienation, Meg will use her own intelligence and judgment to do whatever it takes to get her daughter back.”
