Morning Brew – Tues. Dec. 18: Hunter Valentine’s video for “Liar, Liar,” Tig Notaro in “Vanity Fair”

Good morning!

Hunter Valentine have released the video for “Liar, Liar,” which has a gambling/stealing/cheating theme. See what they did there?

Tig Notaro is featured in the new Vanity Fair comedy issue in which I cringed at the writer’s description of her:”A lesbian who works the soccer-player “boi” look.” The writer also seems kind of intent on proving that her sexuality has made it hard for her to advance in comedy, including a quote from friend Amy Schumer:

Looking masculine and being gay, the challenges of the road are 20 times harder for Tig than other female comedians. People fear what they don’t understand.

2012 has been both Tig’s best and worst year ever.

Howard Stern wants Rosie O’Donnell to join him on the America’s Got Talent judging panel. I think that’d be a great gig for her but she’d have to break some hearts and I don’t know if she could do it.

Evan Rachel Wood’s got a new ‘do on the set of 10 Things I Hate About Life. Not gonna lie: I miss her short cut.

the xx have released a three part documentary online where they discuss recording, rehearsing and playing live. Here’s Part One: “Recording.”

Congrats to Retired Air Force Major Margaret Witt and new wife Laurie Johnson who were married in Washington this past weekend. Margaret was instrumental in the repeal of DADT.

Out gallerist Jessica Silverman is one of ELLE‘s 2012 Women in Art Power List. I’m adding her to my personal list of “Trish’s 2012 Powerfully Hot Women.”

Rachel Maddow was part of a “Duets” conversation series recently in New York and she talked with Tony Kushner. The New Yorker posted some tidbits and when asked if she feels like she’s playing a character on TV, Rachel said:

It’s not a fake me, but it is a slice of me. Like, I am a person who has depression, and I don’t let depressed Rachel on television.

She only lets her guard down when she comes home to me. It’s fine.
