Afternoon Delight: Casting the new Wonder Woman, Lady Gaga on a safari

Good afternoon and happy Friday!

Happy birthday to Kaley Cuoco, Elisha Cuthbert, Des’ree and Amy Ryan!

The CW is gearing up for their new Wonder Woman prequel series Amazon. The show will “chronicle the female superhero’s life as a young Amazonian, before she becomes a warrior princess with super powers.” Although the network hasn’t even ordered a pilot episode for the series they have hired a casting agent to track down the show’s leading lady. The casting calls stated they are looking for actresses “early to mid-20s, 5’8″ or taller.” What actress do you think should play the next Wonder Woman?

If you’re a fan of Sarah Paulson’s character Lana on American Horror Story: Asylum then read over this “spoil-ish” quote from the show’s creator Ryan Murphy.

There are many characters in the show and most of them don’t survive. But I thought the Lana story was really about the power of the spirit to survive any and all horrors. I thought that there’s great scenes in the one after Dark Cousin which is the most f****ed up Christmas episode of all time where instead of praying for Lana, you’ll be cheering for Lana. It’s a script I think Sarah loved playing. We’re writing the ending right now so I think people will love what happens to Sarah and what she ultimately does.

Earlier today Lady Gaga took to Twitter to posed some “Blair Witch-style” photographs of herself on safari in South Africa.

Out actress Lindsay Lohan is featured (many times and probably without her knowledge) in the documentary $ellebrity.

And speaking of Ms. Lohan, the Chelsea Lately cheer squad (featuring lesbian comedian Fortune Feimster) created a special cheer in her honor. (Although it’s not much of an honor.)

Congratulations to newlywed Liz Lemon! Ok, I know she’s only a fictitious 30 Rock character (played by Tina Fey) so I shouldn’t be this excited but after six season I’m so happy that Lemon finally found someone! Here’s a little highlight reel from last night’s episode. And, yes, Liz wore a Princess Leia costume during her nuptials.

Attention all you Girls fans! EW has some exclusive photos from the HBO series’ upcoming season.

And Girls‘ star Lena Dunham was named one of EW’s Entertainers of the Year, along with Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, Kerry Washington and the entire cast of Showtime’s Homeland.

Reese Witherspoon will star in the movie adaption of Wild, based on Cheryl Strayed’s memoir of the same name.

Iron Chef Cat Cora will be featured on an upcoming holiday episode of The Jeff Probst Show. The show’s air date is still pending but I’ll keep you posted.
