Morning Brew – Mon. Nov. 12: Ruby Rose in the boxing ring, a Fox News anchor apologizes for calling Rachel Maddow a man

Good morning!

Last Friday, reports surfaced that a Cincinnati, Ohio Fox TV anchor named Tricia Macke referred to Rachel Maddow as “an angry young man.” She has since apologized, saying “my comments … they do not reflect my firm beliefs in individual and equal rights, and they certainly do not represent the opinions or position of my employer WXIX-TV.”

Ruby Rose has been training to box, and now she’s in the ring. Check out her performance.

In lesbian rumors that probably aren’t true, Christina Aguilera was seen “gyrating” near Vanessa Hudgens at a party, “trying to seduce her.” This can’t be true. I mean I gyrate toward people all the time and I’m not trying to seduce them. If I do, it’s completely by accident!

Also it appears that IF Raven Symone WAS dating AzMarie Livingston, she is no longer. So either she never was or she isn’t anymore. Take it for what it is.

Out actress Amber Heard has signed on to star in the film Dead Sand, which sounds freaking scary. Also, her hair is dark now.

Jill Flint is part of a new NBC pilot called After Hours, which is great for Jill but terrible for me. Don’t leave The Good Wife, Jill!

Our Best Lesbian/Bi Movie Ever Poll closes tomorrow, which means you have one last day to get your vote in.

Heather Peace is going on an Australia tour in Februrary, which doesn’t sound anywhere near Portland, so I think there was a mistake.

19-year-old lesbian soccer player Sihle Skotshi was brutally murdered in South Africa. This is a terrible tragedy that is sadly just one of many happening, and there doesn’t seem to be much help in the way of law enforcement. Sigh.

The L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center held their 41st Annual Gala this past weekend, honoring Megan Rapinoe. Also in attendance: Megan’s BFF Lori Lindsey and Pretty Little Liars‘ Lindsey Shaw.

Also Carla Gugino and Gwendolyn Christie posed together at a screening of Hotel Noir. Gwendolyn is my favorite on Game of Thrones.
