We’re happy to premiere the music video for La Pump’s ethereal-pop single “Magnet,” from the out artists’ forthcoming album Polygon. La Pump (née Jenn Agosta) hails from Portland, Oregon and says her album will be a mix of “danceable club jams and romantic grooves” with “smooth, rich vocals riding atop syncopated beats with pop melodies, orchestral strings and textured synths.” I’m thinking Depeche Mode, Uh Huh Her, David Bowie and Robyn, and that sounds like a winning combination.
The video is directed by queer filmmaker Aubree Bernier-Clarke, who has worked with The Corin Tucker Band, Mirah and Thao, and features a mysterious white cat, aka you’ll love it.
