Morning Brew – Tues. Oct. 23: Jane Lynch and Lily Tomlin honor Ellen, Alison Brie and Gillian Jacobs are total teases

Good morning!

Alison Brie and Gillian Jacobs welcome you!

After tonight’s Pretty Little Liars Halloween special, we’ll have to wait until January 7 for new episodes. ABC Family tells us what we can expect:

Radley Sanitarium has given Mona a clean bill of health and she is headed back to the halls of Rosewood High, much to the Liars’ dismay. With their former tormentor now back in their everyday life, Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer take very different views of the “new” Mona. Sure she made their lives a living hell, but is she really cured? And what other secrets could she be holding onto? It is up to Mona to prove to the Liars if she has changed or not.

Creepy!

Last night Ellen DeGeneres received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor and was honored by the likes of Jane Lynch and Lily Tomlin. While we will be able to see the whole thing air on Oct. 30, The Washington Post has some great tidbits from the ceremony, including what Jane and Lily said about Ellen on stage:

“I’m pretty darn sure I could not have the career I have, that I could not live as openly as I’ve lived, if it hadn’t been for you,” said Glee star Jane Lynch. “You really took one for the team” in revealing her sexuality on her first sitcom. “She went from stand-up to standing for something,” said Lily Tomlin, herself a former Mark Twain recipient

I can’t wait to watch it, which Ellen joked is part of PBS’ “final season.”

Speaking of Ellen and Portia, they share the stage today on Ellen’s show. Here she is going through the Haunted Hallway.

Way to still look fierce while being scared, girl!

Lot’s of other great stuff on TV today, including Leisha Hailey and Constance Zimmer as a couple on The New Normal tonight!
