Good morning! I have to say, I love how lesbian-filled my Wednesday night TV viewing is. American Horror Story, Chicago Fire, The Challenge — I’m all about it.
In addition to all of that regular goodness, Watch What Happens Live was intensely gay with guests Jackie Warner and Gina Gershon. One game they played was Great Lesbians Throughout History. I would have won the shit out of that game.
Other things I learned: Jackie is single, likes “a little bit of a belly” on a girl and is still friends with exes Mimi and Rebecca. She also had a thing for Gina after she saw Bound. Who didn’t?!
Last season on Happy Endings, Eliza Coupe‘s Jane joked about an ex-girlfriend she had from college. Well now my dreams of having a lesbian on the show are coming true, as Jane’s ex will be coming to the show. Briga Heelan (Cougartown) has been cast as Jane’s ex who reappears in her life. Jane’s husband is played by Damon Wayans Jr., and he told TVGuide about the upcoming episode:
However Eliza said the lesbian relationship was not super serious.
Two women in wet tank tops does not a lesbian couple make. I’m hoping that time I met the Happy Endings writers at TCA and told them how badly I want a lesbian character on the show inspired something a little more in them, but it is a comedy, after all.
Rosie O’Donnell‘s ex Kelli Carpenter is marrying her sweetheart, singer Anne Steele, in June. It’s going to be a small wedding, a BBQ picnic in their backyard.
Out Don’t Trust the B in Apt. 23 creator Nahnatchka Khan was part of The New Yorker Festival recently on a discussion called “The Future of Sitcoms: Laughing.”
Lesbian writer Patricia Resnick is developing a sitcom for NBC! The 9 to 5 creator is working on “a semi-autobiographical drama with comedic overtones set around the professional and private lives of the harried staff of a formerly famous novelist suffering from decades-long writer’s block.” NBC is so good to lesbians these days.
Pretty Little Liars‘ upcoming Halloween episode is going to be so scary.
