Afternoon Delight: Ellen raises money for bullied bus monitor, Katy Perry on “The Hollywood Reporter”
Good afternoon and happy Friday!
Happy birthday to Meryl Streep, Amy Brenneman, Mary Lynn Rajskub and Cyndi Lauper!
Ellen DeGeneres to the rescue! Earlier this week a video showing an elderly bus monitor being bullied by a group of school kids went viral and caught the attention of DeGeneres and many other celebrities and news sources. The video showing Karen Klein being called names and threatened with violence prompted viewers to donate more than $420,000 to grandmother of eight. DeGeneres took to Twitter to shared her thoughts about this disturbing situation.
It breaks my heart. I’m so moved by the donations. Bullying doesn’t end when you grow up. It ends when we stop bullying say.ly/bGm3ANC

Mila Kunis strutted her stuff at the Ted premiere in Hollywood, CA. I will definitely be seeing this R-rated film.
Barbarella is heading to the small screen. The iconic film, whose title character was originally played by Jane Fonda in the 1960s, will be getting a reboot by Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn. Who do you think should be cast in the title role? I’d cast Jennifer Lawrence or Tricia Helfer.
“I Kissed A Girl” songstress Katy Perry is on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter. Wouldn’t it be awesome/creepy if those weren’t Perry’s hands?
Out comedian Gloria Bigelow shared her San Francisco pride plans on Twitter.
