Morning Brew – Fri. June 22: Lesbians on “MADE,” Imogen and Fiona in “Degrassi: Showdown” promo pics

on

Good morning! I’m heading up to Seattle for Pride this weekend. If you’re in another city (New York, SF, Houston, Chicago) that is celebrating Pride this weekend, safety before fun!

Musician Jen Schande was inspired by Michelle Tea‘s Valencia and wrote an album about it. It’s going to be super ’90s, so I’m sold already.

Degrassi: Showdown has put out some new promo pics and Imogen and Fiona are still in a love triangle with Eli. Adam is, apparently, still on his own.

Rumor has it Johnny Depp bought Amber Heard a horse so she can “ride with him.” I’m pretty sure Amber could afford her own damn horse. Just saying.

Congrats to Jessica Capshaw! The Grey’s Anatomy star gave birth to Poppy James Gavigan on Wednesday.

The Indigo Girls just kicked off a tour with The Shadowboxers but, beginning in July, they will be playing with local city symphonies. It starts July 28 in Chattanooga.

The new season of Made on MTV has two lesbians that want to have their dreams come true. One of them wants to be a rapper (and marries her gf!) and the other wants to be roller derby girl and that one airs Monday!

If you love Mississippi Damned or just want to support great lesbian filmmakers, please visit Mission: Small Business and vote for Tina Mabry by searching for “Morgan’s Mark.” I did!
