Morning Brew – Thurs. April 26: Lindsay Lohan responds to Rosie, Rachel Maddow loves “Ice-T and Coco”

Good morning!

You guys, I am psyched. Susanna Fogel and Joni Lefkowitz have signed on to adapt the Mexican series Terminales for ABC Family. Deadline says the show “chronicles the life of young and successful publicist April Marquez who is diagnosed with terminal cancer.” Sounds like a dark comedy, which could be perfect for the two behind Joni & Susanna. Kudos to ABC Family for bringing in more gay girls like Joni to work on shows for them.

Check out these shots of Lindsay Lohan on the set of Glee. Or maybe you prefer gazing at Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Naya Rivera in their Nationals dresses. Same link!

Speaking of LiLo, she doesn’t understand why Rosie O’Donnell would speak ill of her, as she did on The Today Show earlier this week. Lindsay told Access Hollywood:

It’s funny that someone you don’t know at all can say something so intrusive and so knowing. You know, I did one of my first interviews with her when I was little. I was so excited.

In case you didn’t know, Rosie said she didn’t find Lindsay right for the role of Liz Taylor in an upcoming biopic for Lifetime. Specifically, Rosie said:

The last thing she did good she was 16… I don’t think she’s right for the role and I don’t think she’s capable at this point of doing what’s needed.

Rosie’s just going from what we’ve all heard about Lindsay’s work ethic, I’m sure, but I think we’re all hoping that she can pull her next few roles off. We’ve been rooting for her a long time – there has to be a pay off!

Kathy Wolfe penned a piece for the Huffington Post on “the new new queer cinema,” and mentioned the news that Wolfe Video is partnering with Hulu to start up an LGBT section, offering free gay movies. And they have a pretty good selection so far, especially if you have Hulu Plus.

Heather Peace fans, make sure to go to OneMoreLesbian.com today at 12 p.m. PST for a live video session with the Lip Service star. She’ll answer your questions and play an acoustic version of a song from her new album, Fairytales. So make sure to pause whatever you are watching on Hulu and get over there at noon.

Rachel Maddow often says she doesn’t have time to watch TV, but now we know it’s all a lie! She admitted to Wendy Williams yesterday that she does, in fact, watch one reality show, and that is Ice Loves Coco.

I’m really not kidding when I tell you that show is super gay-friendly and I, too, love it.

I think this lesbian werewolf comic would be something we’d all like to see happen. Check out the Kickstatrer video for Rachel Deering’s Anathema.

Deering told Comics Alliance:

The comics market is in serious need of some diversity if it hopes to draw in new readers. Anathema presents a strong female character, and she’s gay. The tone of horror in this book is not at all like the modern gore-porn and/or romantic monsters. I think it’s a book that could benefit the scene.

If you agree, head over to donate to the cause. There are four days left and $405 to go!
