Afternoon Delight: A 12-year-old speaks out for his gay moms, the trailer for “Your Sister’s Sister”

Good afternoon!

Happy birthday to Kate Hudson, Ashley Judd and tennis star Maria Sharapova.

Cat Cora and her Around the World in 80 Plates co-host Curtis Stone attended the Bravo Upfront 2012 at Center 548 in New York. I love Cora’s dress!

Back in 2009 the one and only Judge Judy went to the mat in support of gay marriage on CNN’s Larry King Live. This video has resurfaced on the internet and is once again getting a lot of attention. Judy is one articulate brassy lady.

Which films were selected for the 2012 Cannes Film Festival? I’ll tell you a few: Wes Anderson’s Moonlight Kingdom, starring Tilda Swinton and Frances McDormand; Cosmopolis, starring Samantha Morton and Juliette Binoche; and Lawless, starring Rooney Mara. Head over to the Cannes’ website for the complete list of selected films.

Emily Blunt and Rosemarie DeWitt both want the same dude in My Sister’s Sister. If you feel like rolling your eyes, watch the film’s trailer. (Bitter much?)

South of Nowhere‘s Gabrielle Christian took to Twitter to support the gays.

The founders of National Weed Day will probably not like Christian’s competitive holiday but I bet they’ll get distracted by a bag of Doritos so any potential crisis will be averted.

Out rocker Beth Ditto was all smiles outside of the BBC Radio One studios in London, England.

Video of the Day!

Twelve-year-old Isak Atkins-Pearcy adds his young voice to the fight for marriage equality. Pearcy, who has two mothers, is speaking out with the goal of defeating North Carolina’s Amendment One, which would place this language in the state’s constitution: “Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this state.” Great job, Isak! p.s. I love doughnuts too!
