Morning Brew – Wed. April 18: Linda Wallem leaves “Nurse Jackie” for Melissa’s kids, Laurel Holloman on giving up acting (for now)

Good morning!

Nurse Jackie‘s co-creators are leaving the show! Out showrunners Linda Wallem and Liz Brixius will not be returning for the series’ fifth season. Wallem told Deadline:

This has been the best job of my life, but the travel, having to spend six months (in LA) and six months (in NY) and be away from home, took a toll on me. I have four stepkids, and I would miss all of the family stuff.

Her stepkids are, of course, Melissa Etheridge’s children. Linda also told Deadline she’s looking for LA-based jobs and is spending her time “doing carpooling and making lunches.”

Congratulations to Eli Sanders, who was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his in-depth reporting on the brutal murder of a lesbian in the Seattle Stranger. You can still read his award-wining piece: “The Bravest Woman in Seattle.”

Congrats is also in order to Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, who are expecting. A True Blood baby!

Michele Ragussis wants to be the next Food Network Star! She’s a finalist on the new reality show competition and, in her bio video, she says one of her girlfriends told her she should start cooking.

I’ll vote for her! I, too, love dill.

The Glee Project‘s Dani Shay talks about her androgynous look, being a tomboy growing up and what her storyline would be on Glee.

White Collar is coming back July 10. Still no word on if we’ll see the return of Diana’s GF Christine, but my fingers are crossed.

Laurel Holloman talks with YAGG about her first solo show of her paintings in Paris and how she’s turned down acting roles offered to her because she’s doing art full time.

Which one of you guys called into Watch What Happens to ask Rashida Jones if she’d ever been in “the lady pool”? I salute you for trying, Rashida’s Biggest Midwestern Lesbian Fan.
