Morning Brew – Tues. April 17: Julie Goldman plays a firefighter on “Best Friends Forever,” Queen Latifah to perform at Long Beach Pride

Good morning!

One Million Moms is mad that Urban Outfitters has a photo of two women kissing in their new catalog. I’m still mad UO donated money to Rick Santorum. Rick might be out of the game, but that probably won’t stop Urban’s CEO from donating to more homophobic politicians. Who really loses in this situation? Oh, right — us!

Queen Latifah is going to be performing at Long Beach Pride on May 19. If you live anywhere near Long Beach, you should most definitely go. And if she happens to talk about why she loves her our community so much, please take a video and send it to me immediately, thanks!

Ugh, I’ve seriously had some of these conversations with my wife. Lesbian love = so hard! (p.s. I prefer almond milk.)

Erin Martin seems to be kind of mad that she was booted from The Voice. First < ahref="" target="_blank">she told Access HollywoodCee-Lo on Twitter for saying she was a lesbian. (She’s bisexual.) But Cee-Lo was just responding to tweeters who said he kept her around for sexual favors. Even though saying “she’s a lesbian” might not have been what Erin wanted him to respond with (maybe “I believe in her talent” would have been a little better), it does seem like odd timing for her to be doing this now. These tweets originated from when she was saved over The Shields Brothers a month ago.

Fiona Luray has a song for homophobic senators: “Homophobic Senators Suck.” Fiona, I need to know how you feel about homophobic senators.

Julianne Moore could be playing Chloe Mortez‘s mom in Kimberly Peirce‘s Carrie remake. I approve!

Julie Goldman is on this week’s episode of Best Friends Forever as “the newest member of the girls’ local firehouse.” Here’s an exclusive pic we have just for you!

Model and actress Brooklyn Decker has a dog named after Billie Jean King and a handful of girl crushes. It’s all in this month’s Women’s Health.

The Daily Beast surmises that the Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels breakup is good for gay marriage. Tricia Romano writes:

As the drama continues to play out in a public fashion, gay marriage supporters can take comfort in one basic fact: “We know that there are straight celebrities in Hollywood who have trouble keeping their relationships together,” said Taylor of Lambda Legal. “So the woes of a high-profile, gay-celebrity couple I suppose in some ways does highlight the common humanity of us all.”

If anything else, it’s all cause for discussion on how our lack of marriage equality complicates things and is TOTALLY UNFAIR. Also, lesbians breakup, too. Straight people don’t own heartbreak, unfortch.
