Morning Brew – Fri. April 13: Former child stars against Kirk Cameron in FOD video, Eileen Myles and Alison Bechdel win Guggenheim fellowships

Thank god it’s Friday, guys! I’m ready for a weekend, although I always kind of start my weekends on Thursday nights. Shout out to Elspeth, who said she reads Morning Brew every day.

Let’s start out with a huge congratulations to Eileen Myles and Alison Bechdel who are recipients of Guggenheim fellowships this year! There could not be two more deserving artists/writers.

Former child stars are not happy to be associated with Kirk Cameron and his views against homosexuality, including Christine Lakin (Step by Step)!

Kimberly Peirce’s remake of Carrie has a release date of March 15, 2013. I don’t think I can wait that long, so could you please hurry up and get filming? Thanks.

Jane Lynch explains what we’ll be seeing in up upcoming episode of Glee with the Saturday Night Fever theme.

AzMarie talked with Zap2It about her decision not to wear the booty pop on this week’s America’s Next Top Model. Does she regret it?

No. No, I don’t. It was something I believed in not doing. I wasn’t comfortable. Everything else was fine for me, I just felt like at that point — I don’t know what this has to do with modeling, as far as using a pad, not so much learning the positioning … Then I got shown in a whole other light ’cause I said no … I’m glad they showed me apologizing to Tyra, ’cause it had nothing to do with me trying to make her look bad, or say anything towards Tyra or the opportunity she was giving me.

You guys: It’s finally happening! Will Arnett has confirmed that shooting of the Arrested Development mini-series for Netflix and the movie are happening this spring and summer. Portia de Rossi will be coming back to us so soon!

Here’s a novel that sounds pretty interesting: The World We Found follows a group of Indian women who were friends while political activists at college in Bombay. One of them eventually realizes she’s a lesbian. Putting it on my reading list!

Kaia Wilson’s new album, Two Adult Women in Love, will be released May 22. She’s currently on tour with Amy Ray and also participated in the raddest thing Out magazine has ever done: A history of queercore. Also interviewed: Donna Dresch, Rachel Carns, Lynn Breedlove and Joanna Burns.

AE reader Quik sent me a tip about this new lesbian webseries The Grass is Pinker. I’d embed the first episode, but it starts out kind of NSFW!

Out writer/director Tyeastia Green is raising funds for her new film PreDestined. Check out the promo and then head over to IndieGogo and donate if you like what you see.
