Angelina Jolie is prepping to shoot Maleficent, the live-action version of Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. Jolie spoke with EW about playing the title villainess role, “It’s the first time they’re looking at this epic woman … I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn’t mean she can’t have other [warmer] qualities. It’s a really great script. I’m having a lot of fun. I’ve already got my horns fitted. My kids are very happy.” As a child, Maleficent scared the s-t out of me so hopefully I’ll be able to hold my own with this film.
Today history was made when the Miss Universe Organization announced they will allow transgender contestants to compete. This news follows the controversy over Miss Universe Canada contestant Jenna Talackova, who was originally disqualified from the competition for not being a “natural-born” female.
