Here are the details on the May 18th event:

DATE: Sunday, May 18th
TIME: 3pm to 6pm
LOCATION: The Bar K section of Cowgirl
ADDRESS: the bar/restaurant is located at 519 Hudson St, New York, NY 10014, but the Bar K room has a separate entrance at 255 W. 10th St.

Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions...

WHAT'S THE POINT OF THIS EVENT?
For AE staff, vloggers, and 3Way folks to meet and chat with AE readers, and AE readers to meet each other. Please don't be shy! Come up to us and other attendees and introduce yourselves.

WHO WILL BE ATTENDING?
Sarah Warn, Lori Grant, Bridget McManus, Dara Nai, Karman Kregloe, Jill Bennett, Dee, Nancylee Myatt, Paige Bernhardt, Maeve Quinlan, and Kate McKinnon (subject to last-minute changes).

WHAT'S THE ATMOSPHERE AT THE RESTAURANT LIKE?
Definitely casual.

IS THIS A PRIVATE EVENT?
No. We're reserving the back room, but we're not renting out the restaurant, which means there be some non-AE people there (it is a lesbian-ish restaurant/bar, though).

DOES IT COST ANYTHING TO ATTEND?
Nope.

CAN I COME IF I'M UNDER 21?
Yes, all ages are welcome.

WILL THERE BE FOOD AND DRINKS?
You can buy drinks and appetizers during the event (the restaurant will only be serving appetizers while we're there, since there will be too many of us to serve meals). And please tip well, since the Cowgirl folks were nice enough to let us descend upon their restaurant with very little notice, and in general have been very accommodating.

WHAT'S THE PARKING SITUATION?
You'll probably need to find a parking lot, since you'll be unlikely to find street parking; go to Cowgirl's website for some suggestions on parking lots nearby.

CAN I BRING MY CAMERA AND TAKE PHOTOS?
Yes, but please don't post pictures of other AE members from the party on your MySpace profiles etc. without checking with them to see if it's OK first (since some folks may not be out, or at least not want to be out to the whole world).

I CAN'T MAKE IT UNTIL THE LAST HOUR; IS THAT A PROBLEM?
That's fine, but the restaurant only holds 200 people or so, so if by some chance we exceed that number, there may be a wait to get in.

aah i'm excited! yes, Cowgirl is lesbian-owned, although its not necessarily apparent by going there and its not a gay-themed restaurant or anything.I went to elementary school two blocks away from it, though, so I can tell you all it's a real nice area.

zaya: i second the idea of an afterparty!

little_girl86: il y a beaucoup d'hotels et de petites auberges dans le quartier west village, et aussi un peu plus nord dans le quartier chelsea--j'habite dans celui-ci et les hotels ne sont pas trop cher...bonne chance!

I'm just a short train ride away, but I hate going out alone. My BFF is leaving that day to go back 2 college for summer school, so I have absolutely no one to go with. Well....sort of.

I was planning on attending but looks like my GF is surprising me with a FL trip for my birthday and I believe I am flying away from NJ on the 16th.

Sadly, I will have to wait until another time to meet the AE crew. ON a happy note, I will be spending my birthday in FL with my GF....WOOHOOO!!!!!

Have a wonderful time all and perhaps you'll have some photos to share with those of us who cannot be there. Sorry I will be missing you this time around.

Hey AfterEllen ladies... I know you've said that you'd try to branch out to doing more meet-ups in other cities... why not Denver?

Denver reportedly has the largest monthly women's gathering "First Friday" in the country! Apparently over 2,000 women were there in March. There are also professional womens' networking events up the wazoo, loads of happy hours, and parties like Hip Chicks Out and FlyGirl every weekend!

How 'bout it? We're a fun crew!

all i have to say is please don't drive in manhattan if you don't need to. other drivers are crazy, people jaywalk in front of your car during green lights for fun, and you will spend years looking for parking. the best thing to do is take the subway or take a cab. they have subway directions on their website. i also think cowgirl is a good location because two huge lesbian bars, rubyfruit and henrietta hudson, are about one block away and three blocks away respectively, on hudson street. and if you walk further down christopher street you hit the infamous pier which is like which is like a gay outdoor meet and greet, maybe not so much on a sunday, but it's a gorgeous place to check out....either way it sounds like fun and i'll definitely try to be there!
