One of the most highly anticipated films of the year focuses on a family with two lesbian moms and is co-written and directed by an out lesbian filmmaker. No, this is not a positive affirmation or an entry on our official AfterEllen.com wish list. The Kids Are All Right, which opens this Friday in the U.S., is already scoring high marks from critics and stars two of the most acclaimed actresses of our generation, Annette Bening and Julianne Moore.
In this exclusive footage from JD Disalvatore (TheSmokingCocktail.com), director and co-writer Lisa Cholodenko and the stars of the movie, including Mia Wasikowska and Josh Hutcherson (who play the kids of Bening and Moore) talk about the making of the film. Plus, we get to see some extended scenes that are both hilarious and heartfelt, including one in which Nic (Bening) and Jules (Moore) recall their getting together story.
