Good afternoon and happy 50th birthday to Rosie O’Donnell!
O’Donnell posed with her fiance Michelle Rounds in a manner typically reserved for a lesbian film DVD cover.
It’s easy being green when you look like Alyson Hannigan. The former Buffy star showed off her baby-bump at the American Reunion premiere in Los Angeles.
Hannigan’s co-star Natasha Lyonne (But I’m a Cheerleader) smiled in all black.
Academy Award-winning actress Kathy Bates will guest star on Two and a Half Men. Who will Bates be playing? Why the ghost of Charlie Sheen’s deceased character Charlie Harper, of course! On an episode airing April 30, Jon Cryer‘s character, Alan, will suffer a minor heart attack and ghost of Charlie (aka Bates) will visit him at his bedside. I’m confused.
Actress and action star Jessica Biel has signed on to play Vera Miles in Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho. Biel joins an all-star cast including Anthony Hopkins as Hitchcock, Helen Mirren as Hitchcock’s wife Alma, and Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh.
Famke Jannsen will star in the TV adaptation of the vampire novel Helmock Grove, directed/produced by horror director Eli Roth. The 13-episode series will run on Netflix.
On a side note I thought Janssen and Kelly Preston made an adorable couple in the dark comedy Eulogy.
The Los Angeles Comedy Store is hosting the Beyond the Rainbow LGBT and Adjacent Comedy Show every second and fourth Sunday of each month. The 9 p.m. show will be held in the Store’s Main Room. This Sunday’s show (March 25) will feature Sarah King, Nina Manni, Matthew Nouriel, Jordan Maas, Josh Adam Meyers and headliner Amy Ashton.
I’ve mentioned this before but I’m going to say it again, if you live in Los Angeles make sure you check out the “In Wonderland” exhibit at LACMA featuring Frida Kahlo. The late out painter’s works are spectacular! The exhibit runs through May 6.
This morning, political comedian Kate Clinton revealed her shock and awe with a Battlestar Galactica twist.
Actually, on BSG the word is “frakking,” but close enough. (p.s. I frakking miss that frakking show.)
Lesbian/Bi Gig of the Day!
If you’re lucky enough to live in Arizona then I have a special treat for you! Tonight at 8 p.m. enjoy “An Acoustic Evening with Amy Ray featuring The Butchies‘ Kaia Wilson” at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix. (How much is a flight from Los Angeles to Arizona?)
