Morning Brew – Monday, March 5: Heather Peace on “Waterloo Road,” Sarah Paulson becomes series regular on “American Horror Story”

Good morning! Did you watch Lindsay Lohan on Saturday Night Live this weekend? I watched part of it, including this monologue where Kristen Wiig says the words “I’m a lesbian now.”

Jennifer Morrison and Ginnifer Goodwin looked ravishing together at this weekend’s PaleyFest panel on Once Upon a Time.

Also at PaleyFest, Sarah Paulson, who has officially been upped to a series regular for Season 2 of American Horror Story. She’s so good on that show/every show and movie she’s in ever.

Current TV will simulcast The Stephanie Miller Show this spring, which means you can watch the out radio host in action from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET every weekday. Stephanie said in a statement:

Current has the young, progressive and involved audience that I want to reach everyday. The Current team shares our view that progressive political news and commentary is critical for an intelligent and informed populace and we’re excited to be part of their growing line-up of talented news broadcasters.

So now you can watch Stephanie in the morning and Rachel Maddow at night. Not bad ways to start and end your day!

Heather Peace is going to be back on the telly this Wednesday, at least for our UK readers.

Heather talked with What’s on TV about the role, saying:

I play Nikki Boston who’s applied for the Head of English job, but she’s been called in for a day’s trial with another candidate to see who’s best for the job. Nikki is old-fashioned in her teaching methods, but the kids grow to like her. She’s quite cool and trendy, but doesn’t stand for any nonsense. She sets up a cadet course at lunchtime so that anyone in trouble has to go out marching. She’s one of those teachers who can control a classroom because the kids all want her respect.

She also said that she hit the gym to get ready for Lip Service‘s Season 2 because “there’s a lot of nudity.”

The Guardian‘s Barbara Ellen writes that we have no business, in society, asking who is gay or who isn’t. An excerpt:

It seems to me that, while “out and proud” homosexuality looks infinitely preferable to the closeted variety, it might be time to shift focus away from ruthlessly emptying said closet of every last public figure – from quaking boyband member to sequined diva. It also seems rather dubious for committed outers to continue to claim the moral high ground, when for the most part they seem merely obsessed with flushing out famous faces.

What do you think? I think there’s a difference in the people she’s referring to as “committed outers” and those who are interested in seeing people who represent them in the world at large. Some Stars: They Are Gay Like Us!

Well this is wildly rad. Chairlift‘s “choose your own adventure” type music video for “Met Before” lets you choose which classroom crush the girl follows. Pick the blonde with the glasses and watch how it plays out!
