Happy birthday to Ellen Page, Ashley Greene and Jennifer Love Hewitt!
It’s official! Lindsay Lohan will play the late Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime TV movie Liz and Dick. Do you think Lohan will make a good Taylor?
Parks and Recreation scene-stealer Aubrey Plaza and former America’s Next Top Model Cycle 11 contestant Analeigh Tipton have teamed up for the comedy Damsels in Distress. Check out the film’s trailer below. (There are way too many men in this film for my taste.) Damsels in Distress hits theaters in April.
Former House star Olivia Wilde is on the cover of Town and Country. (Which makes me think of Hugh Grant‘s Horse and Hound magazine” line in the film Notting Hill.)
Not surprisingly, the Los Angeles Times has revealed that Academy Award voters are mainly comprised of old white males. The news publication’s study found that “Oscar voters are nearly 94% Caucasian and 77% male, a median age of 62 and people younger than 50 constitute just 14% of the membership.” Well that’s depressing.
For all you ladies interested in fun in the sun head over to AfterEllen.com’s Facebook page for a chance to win a meeting with Nina Sky and two platinum passes to the legendary Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend in Palm Springs. Good luck!
Glee‘s Lea Michele tweeted a photo of her female cast mates from tonight’s Bridesmaids-inspired episode.
Speaking of Glee, in the next few weeks musical legend Gloria Estefan will guest star on the Fox show and play Santana’s mother. Watch the below New Now Next video where Estefan talks about Santana’s coming out and being a real life Gleek!
Bisexual actress Anna Paquin has signed on to star in the thriller Black Wings Has My Angel, based on Elliott Chaze’s crime novel of the same name. Paquin will play “the call girl named Virginia, who meets cold but sexy ex-con at a Mississippi motel and follows him all the way to Colorado for a brazen robbery.” A call girl? Really? Am I the only person who hates when women have to play prostitutes? Ugh.
To lift my spirits (and hopefully yours) behold, the new Hunger Games Imax poster!
(Note to Self: Self, Buy a time machine so you can fast forward to the film’s March 23 release date. Love, Self. p.s. While you’re there write down the future’s winning lotto numbers.)
Lesbian/Bi Photo of the Day!
Lady loving comedian Erin Foley will be headlining the Hollywood Improv (8162 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA) on March 2 at 8 p.m. If you live in the area come join me in the audience as I sip diet coke and snort it out of my nose from laughter when Foley takes the stage. Yes, it burns but it’s totally worth it!
