Good morning guys!
Sara Ramirez talked with Parade about what she likes to do in her free time (hiking, cleaning, shopping) and the response she’s gotten about the Calzona storyline. A quote:
I can relate. I’m totally the Callie but have a few Arizona qualities. And I don’t have a baby. But if I did, I would show her this.
All my mombian friends on Facebook are supporting this project, a book called What Makes a Baby. It’s the first book that explains the reproductive process without assuming both parents are of biological relation of the child. Check it out on Kickstarter!
Cheryl Dunye‘s new film, Mommy is Coming, sounds pretty rad. It premiered at Berlinale this week and has gotten some fun-to-read reviews. ScreenDaily writes that it’s “light, fun, even wholesome in its kinky team spirit.” Perfect, because The Owls was kind of depressing. (Trailer is NSFW.)
Shay Mitchell was hanging out at New York Fashion Week, wowing with her style.
Speaking of Shay, look who she’s hanging out with on Monday’s episode! Question: How do her girlfriends only appear when another one leaves? It’s like magic. She never has to deal with more than one at a time. Are we sure they’re not invisible?
Here’s a new band I can get behind: The Cold & Lovely is made up of Meghan Toohey, Patty Schemel and Nicole Fiorentino (Smashing Pumpkins). Help them make their first album! And if they go on tour with Luscious Jackson, I might die. The dream of the ’90s!
Congrats to Tina Mabry! The out director has been chosen for Fox’s Diverse Writer’s Program, which hopefully means she’ll get her follow-up to Mississippi Damned out very soon, with help from the boot camp she’s going to attend.
Lesbian duo CREEP interviewed one another for i-D magazine and the results are kind of hilarious. I love their questions: “What’s it like being a woman?” and “Michael or Janet”?
Fran Drescher is going to marry three gay couples (as in, perform the ceremonies) in March. Want to be one of them? Check out the Facebook page for her TVLand show Happily Divorced and sign up. I’d love to have a lesbian couple in the mix. You could get married by the Nanny! Maybe a curmudgeonly old family member would agree to come then.
I’m loving this video from rock group Bye June about being different and finding someone who makes you feel less alone. I am a fan of shadow puppets.
