Morning Brew – Thursday, Feb. 9: “Mistresses” getting US adaptation, Luscious Jackson making music again

Morning!

Remember Mistresses, the UK show that had Shelley Conn and Anna Torv doing it? That show is coming to the U.S. I know we’re all wary of American adaptations of British TV shows, but I’m all for it if they keep in the lesbian storyline. Of course, they’ll have to cast two different actresses, as Shelley and Anna both have their own shows now.

The current season of House will be its last. Will Olivia Wilde return for one more episode as Thirteen? I can only hope.

Evan Rachel Wood continues to be the busiest woman in Hollywood. She’s set to star in another upcoming film (that makes, like, 12) called A Case of You, which seems to be about online dating.

Luscious Jackson is back with new music! Long live the ’90s! The band, which has lesbian drummer Kate Schellenbach for those keeping score at home, released a new song on RollingStone.com yesterday and launched a site to raise money to record the new album. Can’t wait to hear the finished product! And now “Naked Eye” is in my head.

Amber Heard posed provocatively for Italy’s Max magazine this month. She also told the magazine what she likes to read and listen to (non-fiction mostly and old blues, respectively).

MTV and Logo are airing an It Gets Better special on Feb. 21 and we have a clip for you, featuring the celebs who became part of the movement against bullying.
