Morning Brew – Wednesday, January 18: Juno Temple talks “Jack & Diane,” Daniela Sea on what she wants in a partner

Morning!

One of the most lesbianish films at this year’s Sundnace is Mosquita y Mari, and director Aurora Guerrero talked with IndieWire about the movie and how it’s not a “coming out” film.

What I put forth in Mosquita y Mari is a chapter in my adolescence where love was the vehicle to my coming of age. It was this sweet, tender love that helped me discover different layers of myself. None of it was about putting labels to it or freaking out because I thought I might be gay. This experience had nothing to do with that. It was about being in the moment with it. It was about connecting with someone on a spiritual level for the first time. Yes, there were societal pressures that kept us from ever telling each other that we loved each other but nonetheless, it was still my first love and worth immortalizing on film.”

Here’s the trailer. We’ll have a review soon!

Apparently Britney Spears likes to engage in “drunken lesbian sex orgies.” I am pretty sure her bodyguard made all this s–t up, but people will still buy his tell-all book about her.

Jillian Michaels has been hired to co-host CBS’ Super Bowl Commercials Special on Feb. 1. She’ll appear alongside CBS Sports’ NFL analyst Boomer Esiason as they count down the top 10 ads that have aired during the famous football game. It seems a bit suspicious to me that one from GoDaddy.com is on that list, as Jillian is one of its spokespeople.

Juno Temple talked with The Advocate about her upcoming role in Jack & Diane. Here’s what she had to say about the film:

It’s a beautiful love story between these two young women in New York. The girl I play has never fallen in love with a girl before but has an affair with a young woman who has. She makes this discovery and is mesmerized by this woman. I don’t know if you’ve been through this but I have…it’s this idea of loving someone so much that you want them flowing through your veins. Not in a gross way, but just that you want this person to be a part of you. That’s what the film is about. My character has these weird fantasy-dreams about become a werewolf-demon because she’s keeping secrets from her girlfriend. I don’t want to give too much away but there’s a really great scene that symbolizes that. I had an amazing time working with Riley Keough. She’s a great kisser.

I am a big fan of Juno’s so I can’t wait for this film to come out.

Kaia Wilson has taken to Kickstarter to raise the money for her new album. She’s half way there!

Shonda Rhimes insists that Jessica Capshaw’s third pregnancy will not be a storyline on Grey’s Anatomy. The showrunner tweeted:

Gotten a lot of tweets about this. So here’s the word: first of all, she’s not pregnant next season, she’s pregnant this season. In fact, she’s already showing — our DP and costume designer are just very good at their jobs so you all haven’t noticed it yet. I don’t think it’s gonna have any impact on story at all for us. Arizona’s not gonna be pregnant and I think (hope, pray) the schedule will work out so Capshaw won’t even miss an episode. Never fear, Calzonas — I GOT YOU!

I love how scared we get when someone gets pregnant. Don’t take it out Shonda, guys!

Do you want to date Daniela Sea? Then you have to have these qualities, as she told The Huffington Post:

For me, a good mix of curiosity about the world, kindness, wildness, and a free-spirited soul. A great mind and heart is right up there, as well.

Also, you have to be willing to watch Shortbus.

AbFab fans, we’ve got some good news for you! Logo is airing the premiere of the second Absolutely Fabulous special on Monday, Feb. 6 at 10:30 p.m.

Speaking of Logo, for the launch of season four of RuPaul’s Drag Race the network and AfterEllen.com will be livestreaming a Q&A with none other than out designer Patricia Field tonight at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT. Can you tell if someone is a lesbian just by hearing how they answer the phone? Maybe you really can!
