Good afternoon and happy 90th birthday to Betty White!
Also celebrating their births today are the First Lady Michelle Obama and New Girl actress Zooey Deschanel.
Speaking of New Girl, check out a sneak peek on what’s cooking on tonight’s episode. I’ll give you a hint: Zooey’s character Jess on the hunt for a “jazz cigarette.” (Although that’s not really a hint, it’s what actually happens in this clip.)
Kristen Wiig will return to the big screen with Maya Rudolph, Jennifer Westfeldt (Kissing Jessica Stein) and Megan Fox (Jennifer’s Body). Take a gander at the first trailer for the romantic comedy Friends with Kids written and directed by Westfeldt. Friends with Kids hits theaters in the U.S. on March 9.
And speaking of Fox, People is speculating that she and Lindsay Lohan are now both being considered to play the iconic Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime biopic Liz and Dick. (Dear Lifetime, don’t make this movie at all. Love, Bridget)
For all you Gleeks out there, Oxygen’s Glee Project has been picked up for a second season. This time 14 contenders will compete for a seven-episode arc on the Fox series. (Be honest, how many of you watched the Glee Project?)
Golden Globe winner Michelle Williams #showsusherglobes on the cover of GQ magazine.
As Trish previously mentioned in Morning Brew, the February 2 episode (“If/Then”) of Grey’s Anatomy, the cast will take on an alternate reality. What if Meredith’s mother never had Alzheimer’s? What if Meredith ended up with Alex? (That would never happen.)
What if Derek and Addison had stayed together? And what if Jessica Capshaw asked me out before I met Karman? (Since I prefer brunettes, I’d wait for Karman.) Well, whatever happens in this parallel universe, Sara Ramirez’s Callie sure looks happy (and quite stunning).
Charlize Theron raved to E! about her first meeting with her Snow White and the Huntsman costar Kristen Stewart.
Theron said, "We met on a plane going to Comic-Con. You know when you meet someone and it’s effortless? It was instantly amazing. We couldn’t shut up. The plane landed and they were like, ‘Get off the plane’ and we were going on and on."
I’m glad they got along, but I’d be happier if they stayed on the plane and made out. (Come on, you were thinking it too!)
Tonight, Pariah’s Kim Wayans will appear on Chelsea Lately. On Thursday night, tune into the Tonight Show with Jay Leno to see out comedian Wanda Sykes.
Trish Bendix recently teased me about my excessive coverage of Jessie J so I won’t mention that J is asking her fans to vote for her to win the numerous Brit Awards for which she’s nominated. The voting ends February 17, but don’t tell Trish.
Lesbian comedian extraordinaire Kate Clinton posted a new article on her website called “Is That a Super-Pac?” I’d vote for Clinton for President. (Kate, Hillary, Bill or George.)
Photo of the Day!
Since Meryl Streep gave a shout out to Pariah actress Adepero Oduye during her Golden Globe acceptance speech, I think we should all feast our eyes on Oduye in her green Globe attire. (Oduye is beyond adorable.)
