Hello, hello! I just wanted to let you know I will be gone until next Tuesday, as I’m going to make the trip back to the Midwest to see family and friends for the holiday. But Ms. Heather Hogan will keep you company here in the Brew, and we’ll still have plenty of content for you over the next week. Scout’s honor.
An actual headline from The Australian: “Lesbian vampire killer’ to be freed.” Not so good for visibility — unless, maybe, you’re a lesbian vampire.
An engaged lesbian is seeking fashion advice for her big day over at The Guardian. Specifically, she doesn’t want to wear a dress and is looking for suggestions on what else she can don. I’m afraid to read the comments.
I still can’t believe it’s going to be a musical. I don’t know how any of the songs will be cheery or will encourage dancing.
Speaking of Alison, she posted a 30-minute video interview from Critical Inquiriry over at her website. Here it is!
Lesbian designer/stylist Patricia Field threw a Christmas party and it looked pretty wild, in true PF fashion.
I thought Glee was over stunt casting, but apparently not. Real Housewife NeNe Leakes is going to guest star as “coach Roz Washington, the synchronized swim coach.” She’ll go toe-to-toe with Sue Sylvester, who they can’t seem to find any good use for these days.
Chris Brown has a new music video for his single “Strip” and it features many gratuitous girl-on-girl kisses. You know, just because.
W Magazine has a piece championing the girl crush. Thessaly la Force writes:
So a girl crush, according to this piece, is decidedly non-romantic and non-sexual. AKA no fun.
Lost Girl fans, you have until January 2 to make a video for this contest, where you win a chance to visit the set. They provide you with the theme song, the video clips and everything you would need! But you probably want to put guys in it somewhere because they are part of the show, too. (I’m just trying to help you win!)
The Pariah soundtrack comes out today and I think it’s worth owning because of two things: Tamar-kali‘s cover of Gossip‘s “Fire With Fire” and the inclusion of Khia‘s “My Neck My Back.”
Congrats to Joni Lefkowitz for having her script, Life Partners, selected for the Sundance Institute January Screenwriters Lab. She wrote the script with her Joni & Susanna cohort Susanna Fogel and here’s the premise:
First, I love Joni. Second, I love this idea for a movie. Third, Joni and Susanna are also working on a new indie comedy called Is It What It Is that is set to star Evan Rachel Wood, Olivia Thirlby and Sigourney Weaver. I’d like to see that now, please. I don’t even care what it’s about. I’m in.
