Afternoon Delight: Jessica Biel on the cover of “Elle,” new posters for “Albert Nobbs” and “Sherlock Holmes 2”

Good afternoon!

Happy birthday to comedian Rosanne Barr, True Blood‘s Lois Smith (she played Sookie’s Gram) and Jessica Capshaw‘s real-life mom, actress Kate Capshaw.

Last week, out actress Lindsay Lohan shot a photo spread for Playboy. E! News is reporting that Lohan’s racy pictures didn’t meet bunny mogul Hugh Hefner‘s standards and he insisted that a different photographer reshoot the pictures. Yesterday, a judge sentenced Lohan to return to jail for 30-days for violating her probation, so Lohan had better undress fast and bust out her camera phone on the way to the clinker. Actually this story really makes me sad. I want to give Lindsay a big hug and pull her out of that Playboy contract.

In more uplifting news, check out the second poster for Albert Nobbs. The poster includes a quote from Newsweek‘s review: “A jaw-dropping performance by Glenn Close…brilliant.” I can’t wait to see this film!

And, speaking of awesome posters, Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows will be heading to theatres December 16, and two posters of Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) have hit the web. Which one is your favorite?

Charlize Theron‘s newest film, Young Adult, is being called director Jason Reitman‘s darkest film to date. One review states, “Reitman invites you to hate his main character, and Theron plays the heartless, hollow Mavis without flinching. She drinks whiskey incessantly, and manages to make even hate crimes pale in comparison to her crisis of self-absorption.” I doubt I could find myself “hating” Theron. I mean, she even made me like serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster. (On a side note, Nick Broomfield‘s documentary Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer is fascinating and, obviously, extremely disturbing.)

Miss Piggy has a violent showdown in her upcoming film The Muppets. (Kids, violence is wrong!) Miss Piggy could really benefit from an anger management program.

Actress and action star Jessica Biel is Elle‘s December covergirl. (Hey Jess, your bra is showing. Love, Bridget.)

Out comedian Michele Balan (Last Comic Standing) will be performing this Saturday, November 5 at The Hide Away/Anthony’s Restaurant (105 Canal St.) in Malden, MA. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.

Video of the Day:

Anderson Cooper has continuously covered the issue of bullying on his CNN show Anderson Cooper 360. A 12-year-old girl named Savannah Robinson decided to speak out about her own experiences with bullying by singing Christina Aguilera‘s “Beautiful” (a song written and produced by out artist Linda Perry).

Robinson wrote a caption on the video, “Hi, my name is Savannah. I’m 12 and have been a victim of bullying. Thought i’d shoot this video for all of my friends who have experienced the same, and all the other underdogs out there. Let’s stand up! :-)”
