Morning, Brewbies! Welcome to Friday! In the grand tradition of kicking your morning off with good news, let’s turn to Queerty.com. Yesterday, they picked up on the latest happenings from the American Psychological Association:
Hurrah for intelligent, rational people acting like intelligent, rational people! You sit down, National Organization for Marriage. I wasn’t talking to you. The APA says you’re nutso-bananas.
Girl always has loved her leather jackets.
Here’s some news that’s relevant to the interests of everyone who reads AfterEllen.com: Sarah Michlle Gellar, who played the devious Kendall Hart on All My Children long before she played history’s greatest hero on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, plans to return to Pine Valley before the show says goodbye. These days, Kendall is played by Alicia Minshew, so it’ll be fun to see how they throw Gellar back into the mix. Sociopathic twins seperated at birth? That’s one of my favorites.
Six years ago, before Anna Paquin was Sookie Stackhouse, she starred in a drama called Margaret with Matt Damon and Mark Ruffalo. The movie never was never released, and everyone pretty much forgot about it. Well, Fox Searchlight has finally remembered it, and decided to release it on September 23rd.
Here’s a refresher on what Damon and Paquin looked like all the way back in 2005.
HBO has released 26 new photos for the remaining episodes of True Blood’s fourth season. A few non-spoilery favorites:
On his blog yesterday, Terry Richardson posted some pages of a photoshoot he recently did with Liza Minnelli for Love magazine, and holy crap! Can you even believe she’s 65?
Speaking of magazines, Octavia Spencer, Viola Davis and Emma Stone light up the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly.
But get this: It has been two years since EW featured a black actor on its cover. Jennifer Hudson graced it back in October 2009, which is as much a commentary on the way women of color still get overlooked for major roles by major studios as it is a commentary of EW’s cover selection process.
It seems like we’ve been waiting forever to get our first glimpse at Anne Hathaway in her Catwoman gear from The Dark Knight Rises. Well, that day has finally come. This morning Warner Brothers dropped the photo on their official site.
Hmm. Not exactly cat-like, is she? Actually, though, in all of WB’s press releases, they’ve been referring to her as Selina Kyle. Maybe she’s not Catwoman yet? Anyway, let the Michelle Pfeiffer comparisons begin!
Trish Bendix will be back to Brew on Monday. If you haven’t had a chance to get acquainted with her TCA coverage this week, you should make some time over the weekend. There are some real gems in her posts!
Have a lovely weekend, lovely ladies.
