Afternoon Delight: Lady Gaga throws her shoes, Beverly McClellan of “The Voice” is getting hitched
Happy birthday to Elizabeth Berkley! Showgirls‘ Nomi Malone turns 39 today.
Last night Lady Gaga was a guest judge on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance? Gaga swore, threw her massive shoes and took off her red (hopefully) pleather hat in honor of my favorite contest Melanie’s performance. The show’s executive producer Nigel Lythgoe spotted Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia in the audience and even quoted DeGeneres’ past SYTYCD critique, “Are you a carpenter? Because you just nailed it!” Tonight Gaga will return to the show, but this time she’ll take the stage to perform.
The Voice‘s Beverly McClellan and her girlfriend are getting married! McClellan told CNN, “It’s not who you love, it’s that you love. … I love my girlfriend.” McClellan hasn’t set the wedding date as of yet but her former The Voice teammate Frenchie Davis confirmed she will be singing at McClellan’s big day. Davis said, “I’m singing at the wedding. Beverly is totally getting married. It’s really exciting … I think, for not just gay people, for straight people, for all people.” Congratulations to McClellan!
During Monday’s episode of ABC’s The View, the ladies discussed New York City’s recent gay marriage ceremonies. Controversial host Elisabeth Hasselbeck actually spoke out against the protestors and said, “The protests outside of these weddings, I thought, was really uncalled for and tasteless. Look, if you think anything is killing heterosexual marriage, the only thing that’s killing it is heterosexual marriage.” Surprised to hear that from Hasselbeck?
Speaking of weddings, Beyoncé wants your wedding and prom photos and videos. The Grammy Award-winning artist is putting together an alternate fan video for her song “Best Thing I Never Had.” I think we should flood Beyoncé’s inbox with lesbian wedding/prom photos so that at least one gets included in the video. If you’re interested in being part of the project, upload your video to YouTube or post your photos to Flickr and makes sure to tag them with #BeyonceBestThing. The alternative video will be posted on BeyonceOnline and Celebuzz.
