Morning Brew – Thursday, July 28: Julie Benz and Camille Chen as GFs on “Royal Pains,” Denise Richards on experimenting

Good morning!

If you were to look up “lesbian news” in the last 24 hours, you’d get a lot of stories about Denise Richards. This is why.

So she had some lesbian experimenting in her past. Do you think it was Neve Campbell? They had some built up tension after filming Wild Things and had to let it out, sans Matt Dillon?

Indian actress Koena Mitra is now refuting reports that she plays bisexual in her new American film, despite the very bisexual-themed poster and description. She told India Glitz:

The news that I play a bisexual character appeared on a micro-blogging site, but that isn’t true. Just because the poster shows me standing with a female actor, doesn’t mean that I am bisexual in the film.

So it’s all for s–ts and giggles? Dumb. And to think, I almost paid money to see a Kevin Sorbo film.

Ellie Goulding has royal fans, and now she has lesbian ones. (Me! Me!) The singer tells PrideSource she definitely has some gay ladies that like her and it’s not just because of her voice.

I found I have quite a big lesbian following, and I think… that it’s because I’m quite muscley.

True and true. Also, we like your singing. But your arms don’t hurt.

Lady Gaga is getting ordained (of course she is) so she can marry her yoga instructor and her partner. She told KISS FM:

My yoga instructor Trisha, a lesbian, has lived with her partner for years now and they have a beautiful daughter. They asked me to marry them. So, yes. I’m going to do it. It’s their private wedding but they’re very proud of it. They’ve waited a long time to legitimize their love. Congratulations to Mama T and T Mama.

How cool. I bet the papa, papa, paparazzi will be trying to invade this private ceremony, if only to see what Gaga is wearing. Will she upstage the brides?

Move over Corrie: Emmerdale has a new lesbian couple coming to town. According to ITV:

No-nonsense duo Ali Spencer and Ruby Haswell, played by acclaimed actresses Kelli Hollis (Shameless) and Alicya Eyo (Bad Girls) are sure to raise eyebrows since Ali has left her Hotten estate home and her husband to be with Ruby.

Late in life lesbian! Love it. Producer Stuart Blackburn said of the new characters:

Ali and Ruby are down to earth, gritty, funny and likeable and after leaving her husband of 15 years, Ali has a lot riding on making her new life in Emmerdale work.

Will you be watching?

Julie Benz (Elyse) and Camille Chen (Anna) play partners on a new episode of USA’s Royal Pains. They show up on the August 3 episode as “a pair of alpaca farmers that call on Dr Hank Lawson (Mark Feuerstein) after an accident leaves one with a wound that won’t heal. Elyse and Anna are the mothers to Libby (Meredith Hagner) a fan favorite that was introduced in the pilot of the show and has been a recurring characters through the shows three seasons.” Ah, so they are moms to an existing character – so we could end up seeing more of them.

Cute couple.

Wanda Sykes recently spoke on a panel about LGBT issues within the black community for the NAACP (its first ever!). Check out the video from FreeSpeech TV.
