Morning Brew – Tuesday, July 26: Beyonce loves her gay fans, “True Blood” cast says It Gets Better

Now that New York has made it legal, Heather Matarazzo is definitely getting married to partner Carolyn Murphy. Murphy told the Kansas City Star:

I always wanted a wedding. Not a trip to City Hall.

Murphy also said she’ll be wearing a “sexy white pantsuit” down the aisle, and that the guestlist for the ceremony is at 200 already. I’m psyched about all the wedding porn that will come out of all of these celesbian NY weddings!

The cast of True Blood proved once again proved that they are on the gayest show on television. The cast participated in these It Gets Better PSAs. Here are the videos from Rutina Wesley and Kristin Bauer.

Now that you have a visual of both women, would you want to see their characters hook up on True Blood? Kristin told E! she wouldn’t say no.

“Wouldn’t that be fun? I would love to work with [Rutina Wesley]. You never know what these guys are going to write. We hear all sorts of different things, and the cast, we cook up stuff we’d like to see, but it would be pretty interesting because they hate each other at the moment. So how these writers would ever manage that, I don’t know. But it’d be fun to see.

A love/hate lesbian relationship? Could make good TV.

Michele Bachman‘s lesbian friends have gotten together to make this video. Maybe you’ll think differently about her after you watch.

For the record, in case you really were beginning to support Michele under the guise that these were actual lesbian friends of hers, it’s all a joke.

If you’re in Australia, you might want to check out Her Society, a brand new lesbian-themed radio show on JOY 94.9FM. Hosts Natalie Zibung and Ginni Hettihewa are on the cover of Cherrie this month, discussing their hopes for the show.

We want to expose our lesbian culture to the world and vice-versa. Every country has a different lesbian culture and we want to bring all that together into the one portal, which is Her Society, and to make it a one-stop place for news, current affairs and events, and we’ll be running a website alongside this too. It’s your one-stop portal for girls who love girls.

Every single lesbian culture in one place? Harder than it sounds! I mean, I go places where the softball dykes and the hipster queers stand on opposite sides of the room.

What does Da Brat look like when she’s femmed up? Vibe wanted to find out. The rapper said the kind of clothes that make her feel sexy depend on how she’s feeling that day. But she also said she loves getting done up:

I’m such a f—ing lady. I loved to get glammed up. I love manis and pedis. I like to go to Vicky Secrets and La Perla because I like lace and bikinis. I’m such a P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thug).

Get it girl.

If you missed the “Prom” episode of Drop Dead Diva, here it is in its entirety.

Over at Spinner, you can win a custom mixtape from An Horse. Then you can tell everyone Kate Cooper made you a mixtape!

Kreayshawn and her friends went thrifting and took a video camera. Whenever I see her nose ring chain, I think of that Janet Jackson video where she had the same thing. Anyone else?

Beyonce said she loves her gay fans, but she seems to be discussing the males more than anything. I just want her to know that lesbians love Bey just as much as gay boys do — we just might not all know the dance to “Single Ladies.” I do know all the words to “Bills, Bills, Bills” so that should count for something. Here’s what she told PrideSource:

If anyone is brave and true to themselves, it’s my gay fans. The amount of confidence and fearlessness it takes to do what maybe is not what your parents expect you to do or what society may think is different – to be brave and be different and be to yourself – is just so beautiful. It’s the most beautiful thing you can be, and it’s what we all want to be at the end of the day. And not worrying about satisfying or becoming what other people think you’re supposed to be, that’s like the ultimate dream – to just be that brave.

Any excuse to post a photo of her in a suit and tie again.
